my next book signing, In Pursuit of Inspiration, is one week from today and it’s going to be super FUN ! there will be a TACO TRUCK, an ICE CREAM TRUCK, and a FLOWER CART ! it’s at one of my favorite store in fresno called ROOT, which is in the beautiful downtown fulton mall district.

SO many times i have stashed bills and letters in unforgotten places when tidying up for company, never to be found again . . . or after it’s too late (hello late payment). but that problem is now solved and it makes this virgo VERY HAPPY !

there is so much power in the POSITIVE.
when you focus on the POSITIVE, i promise you that good things will follow.
i am naturally drawn to earthy and muddy colors. that is how i mostly dress, and those are the types of colors that usually end up in my works. but when i look closely around the world, i find it is filled with so many bright and delightful colors. i will intentionally draw things i see with such color and then i will refer back to them in my sketchbooks and they will spark new ideas.
this is a page out of my new book In Pursuit of Inspiration: trust your instincts and make more art. the chapter is called IN COLOR and it talks a little bit more about what i just said !
my beautiful mother is the one responsible for sending me down my creative path. not only did she start me in piano lessons at age four, but she also took my siblings and me to the local hobby shop once a week and let us choose anything we wanted. she always had us working on creative projects . . . our hands were always busy.
this is why i dedicated my latest book to her . . . i LOVE my MAMA !

the official launch party for my new book IN PURSUIT OF INSPIRATION will be at my berkeley studio on may 4th. i’m very excited to have this book out in the world. i think that we were all born as artists with natural creative instincts that we just need to tap into. hopefully, my book will give you some ideas of where to begin.
