i have always been obsessed with bowls, but recently ALL i want to make, draw, or paint are bowls.

this is a new series that i started at the end of 2014.

i’m looking forward to exploring it further.

a woman commissioned me to make bowls for her father (who lives in france). 8 yogurt bowls with the names of each of his grandchildren so that he can have breakfast with one of them every day. does it get any sweeter ?

i am making some new work . . . mostly very large porcelain bowls. this beautiful creature is my niece, chloe, who will be helping me model said bowls. stay tuned . . .

when i think of the holidays, i think of lots of parties with copius amounts of food. with this in mind, i made some BIG bowls and platters for serving up yummy holiday foods.

i have a lot of new bowls in the store. even though it is the dead of winter, i can still see some soft spring colors just around the corner . . .

Back in the spring of 1939, it was an anonymous civil servant who was entrusted with finding the slogan for a propaganda poster intended to comfort and inspire the populace should, heaven forbid, the massed armies of Nazi Germany ever cross the Channel.

70 years later, this slogan has resurfaced and is now a common phrase seen and used everywhere . . . . due largely in part to people like victoria smith of sfgirlbybay (she is also mentioned here).

to me, it is such a wonderfully poignant sentiment. this is my tribute and interpretation of that ever so touching statement.
