our 2011 HOLIDAY SHOW is all about DESSERT. we invited 9 local ceramic artists who each invited another local ceramic artist. the work will all be “dessert inspired.”

we are having a fantastic 2 in 1 event at our studio next week. an invitational vase show (including some of the bay areas finest potters) PLUS a seconds sale. AND it’s mothers day weekend, a perfect way to kill 2 birds with one stone. the opening night party is next friday night, may 6th, from 6-9 . . . come then to snag the best deals whilst sipping on some wine !

this year we invited 27 local ceramic artists to be part of our CUP SHOW . . . there will be SO many amazing cups for sale.

yesterday i had lunch at o chamé, one of my favorite restaurants ever. i had a gigantic bowl of soup with soba noodles and grilled oysters. it was so clean + pure + delicious . . . just like nectar of the GODS. and one of the best things about o chamé is that it is right down the street from our studio. and speaking of our studio, it’s the first saturday of the month, so we are OPEN all day.

come down and kill 2 birds with one stone. o chamé + 4th and clay.

(and we always have cookies to eat and dogs to pet).

be what you do. here is some new work hot out of the kiln. i love this poem and i try to live my life by these very words. i feel really lucky to be doing what i truly love to do. it makes working ridiculously long hours SO bearable. sometimes at the studio we all stop and realize how lucky we are to be able to play with MUD all day long. we laugh for a minute and then we get right back to work. we are truly lucky.

i also love eating raw walnuts. they taste so earthy and unpretentious and natural. we had a huge walnut tree in our yard when i was small. i can vividly remember climbing up that tree and sitting there eating walnuts right off the branches. what a simple yet decadent memory.
