THANK YOU to everyone who came to my book launch party and for braving the long line and the wait to have your book signed ! it was such a fun day meeting so many new people and virtual on-line friends. i hope my book will help you to bring more creativity and inspiration into your life . . . it’s everywhere !

everyone who buys a book at my BOOK LAUNCH this saturday will get a free sketchbook ! we were ALL born with natural creative instincts . . . we just have to tap into them. i always carry a sketchbook with me. i think keeping your drawings and musings in one book helps keep you on the right artistic track and it’s so fun to look back through it to see your progress, where you’ve been, what inspired you, etc.

the official launch party for my new book IN PURSUIT OF INSPIRATION will be at my berkeley studio on may 4th. i’m very excited to have this book out in the world. i think that we were all born as artists with natural creative instincts that we just need to tap into. hopefully, my book will give you some ideas of where to begin.

the central valley.

the stretch on I-5, between the altamont pass and los banos, is painfully beautiful to me no matter what season it is. i drool over the landscape on every single drive (and i drive this stretch a LOT). 

i received an advance copy of my upcoming book In Pursuit of Inspiration: trust your instincts and make more art. i don’t have my elevator pitch down just yet, but the book is about some of the things that i do in my own art practice and in my own pursuit of inspiration. it is NOT a how-to book, but rather a show and tell of things that work for me. it is a compilation of sketches from my own sketchbooks and photos from my journeys through life. i’m hoping it will spark ways for you to bring more creativity into your own lives. i believe that we were all born as artists with natural instincts and abilities to create, sometimes we just need to find a way to tap back into them.

i’m pleased to reveal the cover of my upcoming book, “France: Inspiration du Jour” (chronicle books). this is my next book which is a compilation of sketches and photos that i have taken during my sojourns in france. this book is very close to my heart and feels incredibly revealing, as i had never intended for anyone to see my personal sketchbook (let alone to actually have it published !?) . . .  but i’m very much into stepping out of my comfort zone. this book will be out on may 2nd, but you can pre-order it NOW here. and you can also get a sneak peek of the inside HERE.

i’m working on FIVE sketchbooks here in vermont. one of them is writing one of my favorite quotes with something that i have found in nature, and then doing a watercolor sketch of said object. this is bringing me such joy. you can see more of the entries here.

they were all over the beaches and i had to take four of them for inspiration.
