we were so lucky to get a private tour of MADOURA, the studio/factory where picasso produced ceramics here in valauris, france. it was amazing and so informative.  

they didn’t allow photos to be taken in his actual studio workspace, but i begged and they let me take some if i promised not to publish them . . . but if you visit me at my studio, i can show them to you in person ! his studio was so inspiring to me.

this is the kiln picasso’s work was fired in !

the musée picasso in antibes is my new favorite museum EVER. it has amazing art, it’s a beautiful building, and it sits right on the mediterranean sea with killer views out of all of the windows. basically, i’d love to live in this museum.

my very thoughtful friend, carol, gave me this magnificent book about picasso and the relationship between him and his dog, lump. the book is set in vallauris, france (the town where i will be doing my residency) at his villa la californie. i can completely relate to, appreciate, and understand their relationship. this previously untold story has stolen my heart. it is my new favorite book . . .
