spoon fed.

i have a real *thing* for spoons. to me, they are very nurturing and soothing. maybe because of the sensual shape. maybe because it is the first utensil we are fed with when we are a baby. maybe because the foods we eat with a spoon are comfort foods . . . soup, oatmeal, ice cream, pudding, etc. . .

the spoon has been used as an eating utensil since the stone age. it is believed that the prehistoric people used shells or chips of wood as spoons. imagine the lip splinters . . . ouch !

i am working on a series of spoons. here are just a few of them in the greenware state. check back in a few weeks for the finished product.
