i love the mountains when they are covered with snow, but i love them equally when they are not. i spent a bit of time in switzerland years ago and we would go on ski trips, but also to visit the mountains when they were bare and beautiful. chamonix mont-blanc was stunning both ways.
at least it is in my SHOP ! even though we should try to practice love every day (giving it, showing it, and accepting it), it’s nice to have a special day when you can really stop and focus on it. maybe even give someone an extra token of love so they can have a reminder of it always. there is a lot of love going on in my shop right now . . .
i have a lot of new bowls in the store. even though it is the dead of winter, i can still see some soft spring colors just around the corner . . .
this most amazing little beach is on the way to my studio (and less than 5 minutes from my home). i try to stop here many times a week so that wilma and i can collect our thoughts, soak up some inspiration, and run along the shore. it’s the perfect precursor to a day at the studio, and such a vital part of our routine.

this year we spent christmas in mexico. it felt very odd to be scantily dressed during this season . . . but man, was it nice.
i am a huge lover of the chalkboard (i think it was one of man’s finest inventions). i designed these nesting ramekins with a chalkboard glaze so that you can easily label your goodies at your next party. you can get a set here (it will even come with a piece of chalk).
i am finally unpacking and setting up my new studio + gallery. very. exciting. i’m trying to be mindful of how i set it up and to surround myself with only things that i really need. my word for 2013 is “simplify.” . . . sketchbooks, CHECK. cahalkboard, CHECK. clock, CHECK. dog, CHECK.
my online sale has begun. as i am in the midst of moving + unpacking my new studio, i am coming across a lot of work that needs new homes. sale items are at the end of my online store, so start on the last page (or click on the “on sale” button on the left). i’ll be adding new items daily . . .
well . . . maybe more like 20. yesterday my sister and i took this amazing dress making class from the lovely SONYA PHILIP (she is the girl who made 100 dresses last year) . . . SO. INSPIRING. i’ve always loved the idea of wearing a uniform. it would make my life so much easier. my favorite dress that i own is a simple a-line dress from THEORY that i’ve worn (and still wear) for almost 10 years. i had always intended to find a seamstress to make me 10 more of said dress, but you know how THAT goes . . . never happened. coincidentally, the dress that i made yesterday (in 3 hours) is almost IDENTICAL to it. meet my new uniform.
