my book has launched !

my new book France: Inspiration du Jour” (chronicle books) was released today ! the book is a peak inside my actual sketchbooks during sojourns in france: a compilation of sketches, photos, and musings. you will learn what inspires and amuses me. i never intended for anyone to ever look through my sketchbooks (let alone publish them) so it’s kind of a funny feeling . . . but a good exercise and lesson in overcoming my shyness.

you are invited to my studio for the launch party and book signing event. there will be plenty of macarons, rosé, and lots of goodies for mama’s day ! . . .

and you will get a free french rock with each book purchase (while supply lasts).

i hope you come by to say bonjour !

à la française.

i’m pleased to reveal the cover of my upcoming book, “France: Inspiration du Jour” (chronicle books). this is my next book which is a compilation of sketches and photos that i have taken during my sojourns in france. this book is very close to my heart and feels incredibly revealing, as i had never intended for anyone to see my personal sketchbook (let alone to actually have it published !?) . . .  but i’m very much into stepping out of my comfort zone. this book will be out on may 2nd, but you can pre-order it NOW here. and you can also get a sneak peek of the inside HERE.

little golf pencils will always remind me of my dad. he played golf six days a week for as long as i knew him (on the seventh day, he fished). i remember him leaving trails of these little pencil nubs all around the house. such a fond memory.

inspiration du jour.

exactly ONE year ago on this desk in vermont, i began working on my next book, France: inspiration du jour, and today, on same said desk, i am reviewing the FINAL photo galleys. i love this full circle. we also just finalized the book cover which i am SO excited about . . . it took three months and a lot of determination to get it just right. i can’t wait to share it with you. stay tuned . . .

the book of wilma.

one of the FIVE sketchbook i started here in vermont.

i never thought i could draw “people” very well, so i decided to just dive in and devote an entire sketchbook to drawing wilma. i know there is some controversy over the 10,000 hours rule, but i believe in it. and for me, it works . . . and isn’t that what matters ?

wilma doing what she does best.
